Keith O’Neill’s has broken his leg in "TWO" places. The coventry and Republic of Ireland international (Last cap v Macedonia (sub)9/10/99), broke his leg in two places in a freak training ground accident.
The last two years have been a disaster, with injury after injury keeping O'Neill from any regular football at all. His main injury has been his recurring hip problem.
O’Neill was hopeful that he could regain match fitness in time to put his name in the hat as potential cover for Ian Harte at left-full in the Irish World Cup squad.
But this latest accident has put his future in football in doubt, never mind a place on the plane for Japan.
Keith caught his foot in the turf and went to block a shot but his foot stuck there and he broke his leg in two places. The bone was sticking out of his leg also.
Im sure we all feel for Keith, and he is very strong mentally. He's sustained a few injuries in his time so hopefully he'll come back stronger than ever.
